Giveaway! Who is Rob Bell and why you don’t want to miss him speak


In a world of self-proclaimed gurus, truth-seekers, motivational speakers and thought leaders, it can sometimes feel like we’ve heard it all and seen it all. But every now and then, someone comes along who opens their mouth (and their heart) and just blows your mind. For me, Rob Bell is that person.

I first came across Rob when he was interviewed on Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic podcast. He gave advice about the changing nature of the universe and how to remain wide eyed and filled with wonder, even if our immediate circumstances are not fantastic. He spoke about protecting your soul in a soul-less environment, and how to stay present and look for inspiration, even in boring and mundane situations. It was a huge eye-opener.

Rob Bell is The New York Times bestselling author of Love Wins, What We Talk About When We Talk about God, The Zimzum of Love and his most recent book How To Be Here. He also has his own podcast, called The RobCast (cute name, huh?). He’s been profiled in The New Yorker, he’s toured with Oprah on her Life You Want Tour, and in 2011 Time Magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential People In The World.

This bloke will give it to your straight, but with a big spoonful of love and compassion. His advice is practical, simple, and decidedly non-preachy. His words will bring you back into the NOW, and give you tools to find joy in your life and appreciate the present moment. He will show you that you don’t have to wait for the stars to align in order to be happy.

His upcoming tour, called Discover How to Get Unstuck and Find Deeper Joy and Meaning in Everyday Life, is coming to Australia. I’m heading to the Brisbane one and I’m a little bit excited!

    I would love to attend this full day with Rob Bell. I am going through a hard time right now so my grateful list looks like this:
    Grateful for public health that subsidises my PTSD treatment I am just starting (decades overdue), a husband who supports me on every level, and my current self care combo of art time/ Netflix binges/ nature therapy.

    “What are 3 things you are grateful for right now?”

    1. I am grateful and honoured to be a Mama to a Miss 10 who wants to be an Eco Warrior and protect out Beautiful Planet.
    2. I am grateful for being able to consciously choose to Be Kind to All Creatures and not eat them.
    3. I am ever so Grateful for being a conscious educated and always learning compassionate human in Australia .

    I’m grateful for:

    1. My recent break up with my boyfriend, as I’ve learnt so much about myself, love and life in general. It has enabled me to trust my inner strength, expand my spirituality and meditations to realms I thought impossible and to trust that the universe is a kind and loving place, regardless of what happens.

    2. Restorative yoga. The ability to nourish and restore my mind and body whenever I need is the most precious gift.

    3. Food. It’s just so damn good!!!

    I am greatful for:
    1. My amazing partner, who is always so supportive even when I am deep in anxiety and pushing him away.
    2. My mum she is my best friend and travel buddy.
    3. My life, although I may struggle with anxiety and infertility which have at times made me feel helpless and worthless, I am still here. I still have the opportunity to live everyday which is a blessing I never want to take for granted but I would really appreciate the opportunity to join Rob in the Wake up Project and gather more knowledge and skills on how to be happy with being me.

    I would LOVE to go i love Rob’s podcast so much!

    1. I’m greatful for the internet and all of the amazing resources like this blog which helps me to take the best possible care of my wonderful body.
    2. We bought a heater last week for this chilly melbourne winter and im so greatful that i have a a roof over my head and a home that is warm, dry and safe – so many other don’t have the gifts we do.
    3. And third im greatful that i have been gifted with a singing voice (humble brag!) which makes me feel creative and self expressed and brings me so much joy to just sing sing sing!

    I’m grateful for this roller coaster called life…… with all it’s ups and downs I’m still present – feeling and healing.
    I’m grateful for this planet that supports me….. without her beauty, sustenance and nurturing, it just wouldn’t seem worthwhile.
    I’m grateful for my own heart that recognises yours…. without us all here….. there would be no adventure. (now that would be sad!)

    I would love to see Rob!!! This sounds amazing and just what I need.

    Right now I am so grateful for a lot!

    My top 3 would be:
    1. Health – the health of myself and my family. Feeling healthy allows me to feel grateful and happy.
    2. Being surrounded by my gorgeous boys. I am the only girl in a house of 6 boys (incl. 2 fur babies!). I love them all and their energy is infectious. I am not, however, grateful for how much wee misses the toilet bowl….
    3. Coffee. I only have one and it is a decaf almond milk one… but I just love the smell and the whole ritual of it. It makes me happy to get out of bed 🙂

    What a great competition!

    I am grateful for:

    1. My kids and husband. I love them to bits and they drive me crazy but wouldn’t have it any other way… Actually I would change one thing; having to fight with my 3 year old about the importance of wearing undies. Everyday.

    2. Good health and recent lifestyle changes which will ensure that my family continues to lead long, happy and healthy lives.

    3. Great friends who are always there… even when I insist on repetitively belting out ‘You’re the voice’ after too many vodkas.
