I know what it’s like. I’ve been there. It wasn’t so long ago (6 years actually) that I was still eating the stuff. I knew it was bad for me, but I told myself that a little bit here and there wouldn’t hurt. But a little bit here and there would turn into a bite of a pastry on Monday, followed by a piece of toast on Wednesday, an after-work pizza on Friday… then a burger on Saturday (I’ve already blown out this week so what the heck, right?)… and by Sunday I was like, “Give me ALL THE CARBS!!!”
I’d suffer afterwards with yucky symptoms that I KNEW were caused by the food I’d eaten. But even then, it was still hard to break the cycle.
On Monday I’d swear that this was the week it all changed. But without a clear plan (and preparation) in place, the wheels would fall off yet again.
I realised that if I was going to stick to a GF diet, for real this time, then I needed 4 key ingredients:
